Who: Brodie Bradford and Asher Rose
What: "Yes I wish you were by my side."
Where: Carlise Estate
When: Thursday night
Brodie was so nervous that he was feeling sick. In general lately, he always felt sick, but this was a different sick feeling entirely. The time had come for Brodie to see Asher in person. He had listened in shock when that Xavier dude told him everything, but it had ultimately taken a lot longer for him to deal with what he had been told. At first, he wasn't sure he believed. He politely listened because the guy reminded him of a cool school teacher who always knew the best way to explain shit so you got it, and didn't mind spending extra time with you until you wrapped your head around it. Of course, it helped when Xavier had actually demonstrated this vampire thing. No, not vampire... Kindred. That was what he had kept calling it, and over the days, spent time with Brodie telling him of the differences between Kindred and average vampires. It definitely wasn't Twilight-awkward up in this shit. This was, like, the fabulous face of vampire... very fitting for Asher. He would deserve no less.
But fuck, Asher was a vampire. Kindred. He was dead but he always wasn't. Brodie's mind wasn't as sharp as it used to be, so it had taken time. Xavier had given it to him. Xavier and the other dude, his husband or whatever. The one Xavier brought in for the demonstration. They both seemed like cool dudes, even if Brodie had just sat there in the bed gaping in shock and awe, because he thought it would be awful, but the fang thing they did was actually quite hot. Then something happened and Xavier and Greg became AWOL and in their place had come the doctor dude, who was also Kindred. Wesley. He was cool. Brodie figured there had to be something seriously fucked if he was thinking all these vampires were cool. But they were. They seemed really nice. How could they be monsters when they were that nice?
He hadn't been ready to face Asher straight away, though. He thought he had been. In fact, he wanted to see Asher straight away, but Xavier insisted Brodie needed more time to process the information and think on it, think on what the enormity of it really was. And now here they were, and his stomach was flip-flopping so much he worried he was going to be sick. Wesley was there, but so was some blonde Scottish dude called Logan who Brodie hadn't seen before. Awesome tats, though, and he was really hot. Like, exceptionally hot, to the point Brodie kept looking at his eyes which were the most addictive shade of blue. Okay, this was actually weird as fact and Brodie shifted awkwardly where he was sitting on the end of the bed in the huge room he had been staying in.
And that was when the door of the room opened, and then there he was... Asher. Brodie shot up off the bed and then just stood there, legs feeling like jelly. He was stunning, absolutely gorgeous... but Brodie also knew as soon as his eyes landed on him that Asher was different. Very, very different.
