Completely in the music zone. It's beautiful.

Something inside me has changed...

Aye, okay, can we all reign in the scary fang boogeyman dangerzone warnings for Luka, please? We've all successfully managed to scare the living shit out of him and make him believe he's too fucking human to be worthy of us, and that I'm going to rape the hell out of him as soon as I get close to him because I'll lose control.

So, can it... or I'll bitchfang the fuck out of all of you.

Who: Seamus O'Reilly and Luka Delaney
What: "There's just too much that time cannot erase."
Where: Carlise Estate
When: A couple of days after Luka talks to Austin

Music was where Seamus escaped. That was no lie. Anyone who even remotely knew him were aware of that. No one would dare try to cockblock him from it either, or they would be on the rude end of a vicious Toreador. No one tried anymore. In fact, even at the estate where he lived with Xavier and Greg, in his wing, he had a whole sanctuary of his own. It was a stunning, sweeping ballroom with chandeliers and an antique grand piano that was a gift from Xavier when Seamus came to live with him. They would often hold formal balls here, and Seamus would perform to many Kindred elite. But often, he would just come here alone to think or to shut himself off from the rest of the world. It was a lot of the reason why he was such a placid Kindred in comparison to many. He had an inner gift that most Kindred lacked and it grounded him. He was fortunate. At least, he had been until his path crossed Luka's.

He was at the piano, face set into a serious expression of concentration that was somewhat troubled. Xavier had the knack of matching Seamus' mood to what he chose to play. Greg was picking up on it too as the years went by. He was play Moonlight Sonata and once again, he picked up on Luka's scent as soon as he entered the room. Unlike the first time, however, this time, he didn't stop playing. He didn't even look up. His fingers moved smoothly over the keys, almost his entire focus on the music that was pitched perfectly in the ornate room.

Without stopping in his playing or looking up, he said calmly, "I am going to set you free."

"Sleep will not come to this tired body now
Peace will not come to this lonely heart
There are some things I'll live without
But I want you to know that I need you right now."

In The Arms of Sleep, Smashing Pumpkins

Luka had lost track of the days and especially the time of day. His own body clock had been up the shit for months now, and in that sense, he would probably make a very adequate Kindred because he seemed to be up all night and all day and only crashed out when his body couldn’t handle the exhaustion any longer. That was one of the biggest arguments for the fact his brain just really wasn’t functioning how it should these days. But despite his second attempt to end it all, his apparent soul mate wasn’t going to have a bar of it.

When he woke slowly now and still finding himself extremely disoriented every time he woke. A bi-product of your own mind being your biggest demon... )

I didn't notice before, but Seamus has this wall in his room covered in pictures of his life. All the things he's done.

I can't believe this person is apparently my soul mate... )

Who: Seamus O'Reilly and Xavier Carlisle
What: Delusion is pointless
Where: Carlisle Estate
When: Approximately 36 hours after THIS and THIS

It had been about 36 hours since Luka tried to take his own life. It would only be a couple of hours before the sun rose, and Luka had been kept in the hospital for a whole 24 hours, and then some, for observation. Seamus hadn't been able to shake the image of Luka slumped on the bathroom floor in his underwear, blood everywhere. It was only from instinctive need to protect Luka that stopped Seamus going into a frenzy. He had been halfway there, though, and when Greg told him not to entirely heal Luka's wounds so it wouldn't look suspicious to the paramedics, it was probably a miracle Greg didn't literally have his arm bitten off. By this point, Seamus had been in full protective mode, nursing Luka in his arms and not letting Greg near him. Greg knew when to keep his distance, but thank god he had called 911 without seeking Seamus' okay or Seamus could well have done something stupid by that point. It was even Greg's lightning-fast decision making that had him pulling Seamus into a hug against him like he was consoling him so the paramedics wouldn't see that he, well, had fangs and eyeballs that looked like they belonged on a serial killer to humans.

Seamus had gone in the ambulance with Luka, managing to control himself and shift back from his Kindred form. Luka had been in a bad way at that point, and all Seamus had been able to do was look on while they attached him to this tube, and that wire, and stuck this needle into him, and hooked that beeping thing up to him. Seamus knew nothing of medical equipment. Even when he had still be mortal, medicine hadn't been at all this advanced. This was all really confronting to him, but the whole rapid drive to the hospital, he had held Luka's hand. And then thank god for humans who walked with them in The Masquerade. Greg had called Skye to come to the hospital ASAP so Greg and Seamus could depart before the sun had come up. Greg took Seamus back to Luka's hotel room and they waited out for the sun to set again.

When they went back to the hospital, Luka had been out to it... understandably. He had his wrists sutured and they had pumped his stomach. Being night again by that point, though, Xavier had pulled a lot of strings and gotten the Kindred physician, Wesley, to take over Luka's case and it meant that rather than being admitted, Wesley authorised for Luka to be discharged into Xavier's care... or Seamus', rather. Luka had been mostly out of it upon his discharge and Seamus had carried him out to the limousine for the drive back to Westchester. Greg and Xavier rode with him, and the whole time Seamus had Luka's head nursed against his shoulder. When they got to the estate, getting Luka out of the car had been an awkward moment when Luka managed to throw up all over one of Xavier's favourite suits, Seamus' sleeve, Greg's shoes, and the marble stairs. But he had been so out of it that he probably barely even realised what was going on. Seamus had just left Greg and Xavier with the mess and carried Luka to his wing.

Now, hours later, they were in Seamus' bedroom. In his bed, Luka was in a long-sleeved t-shirt and a pair of cotton pyjama pants, out like a light in Seamus' massive antique canopy bed. Beside him, Seamus was lying with him, an arm protectively wrapped around him whilst his other hand was soothing stroking his fingers through Luka's thick curly hair while Luka slept. His eyes had barely left him, watching and feeling to make sure he kept breathing, and on the bed beside them lay a pile of unravelled bandages Seamus had removed to carefully remove the sutures from Luka's wrists to heal the wounds completely. When Xavier came into the room with a soft knock on the door and sat down on the side of the bed beside Seamus, Seamus just glanced at him. "You don't have to say 'I told you so'," he murmured.

Who: Seamus O'Reilly and Greg Kent
What: Out of control
Where: Carlisle Estate
When: Follows THIS and THIS

It had been a few days since Seamus made the decision to stay away from Luka so he didn't cause Jett more discontent. The thing was, Seamus was somewhat notorious for being a very calm Kindred. In his Kindred life, he could count on one hand the amount of frenzies he had, and most of those had been when he had been a childer learning to cope with being taken against his will (albeit, a better option than drowning). The theory was that his soul link was to music, which brought him a contentment most didn't have the luxury of. It was true, music was within him. Without it, he would have ended his Kindred life. It was what calmed him, and as a result, he had always been one of the safest Kindred to be around.

He was also somewhat skeptical in that knowledge that he would find a soul mate. At least, a human one that wasn't developed in a symphony or on sheet music. When the other Kindred in his inner circle began to make noises that there was a chance Luka could be his soul mate, he hadn't exactly scoffed at it, but he had definitely not believed it because it seemed like a crazy as fuck notion. About as likely as finding the Holy Grail. He had thought steering clear of Luka was best for both Luka and Jett, and he had gone on his merry wee way diving into his music to try to distract himself to the lingering niggle in his gut that he put down to worrying about Luka after he had been sick.

The first night, he had been okay... ish. He hadn't been in the best of moods and even had an argument with Xavier about basically nothing that simply boiled down to him disrespecting Xavier inadvertently. The second night, he had wandered the streets of New York searching for a feed, but nothing gave him the senses that it would satisfy his hunger. He ended up more stalking the streets and fed from some random person and then wiped their mind of it. It was careless and normally he would feel guilt over an action like that, but he had returned to the manor without giving the mortal a second thought. The third night, he spent in the music room playing basically every angry song in the history of music and when it didn't placate him, he tore the drapes off the curtains with his claws and frenzied, smashing one of Xavier's prized stained glass windows.

And now it was the fourth night, and something was wrong. Something was very, very wrong. He had away from his day sleep feeling on edge. Feeding didn't help, so he tried again and ended up overpowering one of the maids, scaring the shit out of her. He stopped mid-feed and looked at the woman. She looked terrified, but she was also not Luka. Why wasn't she Luka? It was then that something felt like it was tearing him up inside, and with his Kindred light speed, he was soon tearing through the manor, but Xavier was nowhere to be found. Instead, Greg was in the sitting room and Seamus pounced on him with such strength, he knocked the seat back Greg was sitting on and he was now straddled over him, hands gripped at the collar of Greg's expensive shirt. He was about a step away from a frenzy, and he was terrified inside.

"HELP ME! HELP ME!" he screamed in his face, fangs bared as he gripped at Greg for dear life.

Camped out on the bathroom floor all night. Last I looked, Fang and Fangy were in a stalemate in the next room evil eyeballing each other across the room, but neither agreeing to leave. Then morning comes, they pull the drapes and next thing I know they're both comatose on my hotel bed where I really want to be myself because I still feel as sick as a dog. I don't think either of them realised that in their pissing contest, they both forgot to actually take care of me.

And people wonder why I'm fed up with my life. I always end up alone and fending for myself.

Pushed them both on the floor (not like I can fucking kill them, is it?) and got in bed myself. Contemplating cutting my losses and getting on the next flight to fucking anywhere but here or home.
